We decided to take full advantage of Spring break, and my in-laws new home down in Florida. They recently bought a house in a community called The Villages. It is a retirement community of 10,000 or so active adults ;) It was really cool. Besides the 27 golf courses, pools for every neighborhood, area and region, pickle ball courts, tennis courts, shuffleboard and boccie courts, softball fields, polo fields, lakes, 100's of clubs and activities and 2 "town squares," the kids have some pretty fun grandparents there :)
Here are some pictures of our fun trip:
Posing in front of Lake Sumter at the town square with Granddad. He told us that the "downtown" are reminded him of Disney World. The lake was complete with a shipwreck, fake sailboats and a loch.
There was a lake where the men would go and sail their model boats. It was fun and peaceful to watch them sail them out on the water.
Camden had more fun looking at the ducks and the geese. There was a goose sitting on a nest and Camden kept trying to sneak a peak at the egg. I went over with him and got a little too brave...and soon had a goose chasing us up the hill. It was a bit scary for me, but funny to everyone around me :)
Swimmin' in the pool-gotta love Spring break in Florida!
Here is a shot of Camden and Grandma playing shuffleboard. Paul and Camden beat my mother-in-law and I legitimately! Maybe we'll do better next time....We also had a great time playing boccie ball, where Camden won one of his games against his Grandma as well! We will call it beginners luck ;)
One of the kids favorite activities was riding around in the golf cart. It was almost as fun as Disney World :) We would take hour long cruises around the Villages, which the kids found very entertaining. Both of them got a chance at the steering wheel, which they both found to be awesome, but then we had to watch Parker's hands when we were driving because he would try to "help." It was great to have something easy to entertain the kids when they got bored ;)
Here's a pic of Camden at his (and all of our) first polo match! It was cool to see the horses running around...and it must be harder then it looks, because we would see riders go as fast as possible towards the ball and totally wiff it!

Look how happy everyone looks! What a fun vacation!
